His father was Edward Carroll (a gamekeeper) his mother Julia (née Clinton) He was wounded in the face serving with the 4th Bn Irish Guards some time between 1-6 November 1914.  He died in Hospital at Warley Barracks, Brentwood, the following year on 20 February 1915.  He is buried in Stabannan, County Louth, Ireland 3907 Pte Owen Carro…
